    全國政協委員、新希望集團董事長劉永好在今年兩會上提出了《民營經濟要在中國經濟中發揮更大的作用》。

        國家工商總局2月中旬公布的統計數據顯示，截至2006年底，私營企業達到494.7萬戶，注冊資本(金)7.5萬億元；個體工商戶2576.2萬戶，資金數額6515.4億元。去年，私營企業繳納稅收總額3495.2億元，比上年增長28.6%；個體工商戶繳納稅收總額1194.7億元，比上年增長18.6%.劉永好認為，吸納就業、納稅等只是民營經濟貢獻的一部分，全國工商聯去年的一個重點課題調研結果顯示，改革開放以來，大約70%的技術創新、65%的國內發明專利和80%以上的新產品來自中小企業，而95%以上的中小企業是非公有制企業。 

        劉永好同時指出，盡管取得這么多成就，但民營企業自主創新也面臨著不少問題。要建立一個健全的創新體系，這個體系中就必須把資本市場和銀行體系兼而考慮進來。
